The short answer
The Qur’an has 114 chapters, called surahs, and about 6,236 verses, called ayahs; counts differ slightly by convention. In English translation it runs to roughly the length of the New Testament. Apart from the short opening chapter, the surahs are arranged broadly from longest to shortest, not in the order of revelation.
A little more context
For reading and recitation the text is also divided into thirty roughly equal parts, called juz’, which allow the whole book to be read over a month. Each chapter has a name, usually taken from a word or theme in it, such as The Cow, Mary, The Cave, or Light.
