The short answer
Muslims believe that God revealed scriptures before the Qur’an, including the Torah to Moses, the Psalms to David, and the Gospel to Jesus. Belief in these revelations is an article of faith, and the Qur’an speaks of them with respect as guidance and light.
A little more context
At the same time, the Qur’an states that earlier communities altered or concealed parts of what they received, and Muslims therefore do not treat the Bible as it exists today as a reliable record of the original revelation. The Qur’an is believed to confirm what was true in earlier scripture and to be the final, protected revelation. Muslims may read the Bible with interest, but they do not use it as a source of doctrine.
